I wasn't sure if the Maca was going to do anything for me since I wasn't taking it for menopause but I thought I would give it a try. The MAIN thing I notice is an immediate pick me up that lasts most of the day. I regularly feel fatigued and suffer from hypothyroidism and other hormonal issues. WHEN I take my Thyroid medication and Maca I actually feel hot occasionally and even find myself sweating during exertion which if you have hypothyroidism you know is fantastic. I am still waiting to see if it helps with my menstrual cycle but after 2 cycles I can't say its helped yet but I haven't lost hope for it. Additionally I have given to my husband intermittently and he too has increased energy on the days he takes it. I will suggest that you DON'T do coffee/caffiene with the maca as it seems to drain the adrenals too much and the next day all you want to do is sleep. Plus you end up with the 4 O'CLOCK blues unless you take another maca. Do take maca in the morning as opposed to the evening. I have been able to take 1 capsule at night but any more and I am wide awake all night. But taking the 1 at night has allowed me to wake up refreshed and ready to start my day bright and early. Final note, its been suggested that you take a day or two off of maca weekly to allow the adrenals to recharge. I suggest that you do that and be prepared to actually rest because you will be tired. I believe taking magnesium and vitamin C with the Maca has been good for me and continuing the magnesium and vitamin C while off maca has helped me recover faster on off days.
